Building Project
Explanation of Next Steps:
The Building Committee can make little further refinement without an architect.
“Motion to proceed with further development of PLAN X by the Building Committee and to engage a contract with an architect, contingent on an approval vote by the church Council. This engineering will be funded from the Building Fund.” (Current balance: $94,287.24)

At our July 27th quarterly meeting, a motion from the Building Committee was not brought to the floor. However, a special meeting was called for Sunday, August 10th at 12pm (immediately following the service) to once again consider which general direction (one wing or two wings) should continue to be developed.

Explanation of Need
-
Sunday worship attendance is up, and there are more families with children.
-
Community growth (Tioga schools have 270 students K-5th grade)
-
Higher VBS Attendance (Somewhere over 111 kids attended in 2025)
-
Growing Sunday School enrollment (74 kids enrolled in 3rd-12th grades)
-
Current space limitations constrain activity and classroom usage and result in programming conflicts.
-
Future space important to youth ministry and student/family outreach.

Explanation of Progress
-
2016 building plan presented with a single and a two phase option.
-
First phase built in 2020, facility completion and full utilization by 2024.
-
The present building committee was formed in 2025 and is doing the following:
-
Planning: Canvas ministry volunteers concerning unmet needs and draft a building footprint that meets present and future facility needs.
-
Communication: Organize and communicate building concept (not fundraising) to the congregation for refinement.
-
Drawing: With congregational approval, engage architect to engineer and draw detailed building plan.
-

Explanation of Concept
Plan A Two Wing Solution: Modified version of 2016 plan with a wing to both the north and also to the west.
Footprint is 6,513 square feet with an estimated cost of $3,300,000

Plan B Single Wing Solution: Add a single multi-purpose wing to the West.
Footprint is 9,360 square feet with and estimated cost of $2,800,000

Note: Gauging building costs is difficult, especially without an engineered drawing from an architect. Using an estimate of $300 per square foot, the committee has done its best for a reasonable, general estimate.
